Reflections

The fact that no one can identify his/her figure without seeing it in the mirror has always fascinated man. The child at an early stage becomes conscious of his/herself through seeing his own image in the mirror. The momentary reflection on stagnant water, the polished metal, or the chemically treated glass surface relates to the truth, the precise representation of "reality" and so to the deceptive, the "false impression" of it.

Is the image in the mirror representative sample of potential and showcase of desires? Am I as I look in the mirror, or does the mirror simply indicate the relationship with my self-image, that is a process of self-confrontation with oneself? Do other people, however, recognize the same characteristics in my image that I do?
