Early Night Live Sessions, Month of Now and Zen

Τhe conventional concept of 'Νow' is that it is some tiny point on a continuous timeline, which separates past from future. It is not clear, however, that there is a universal timeline or whether, as relativity seems to indicate, the timeline is inextricably linked to the observer.

The Japanese word Zen is derived from the Chinese word Chán, which in turn is derived from the Sanskrit word dhyāna (meditation or meditative state). ”Both delusion and enlightenment arise from the mind…”

Music itself exists in a timeless continuum where the absolute Now is ever present overwhelming the subjective timelines of both the musician and the listener. If both of them don’t participate in this transcendental timeless Now, music loses its essential function and becomes merchandise with an expiring date. All four acts of this month, one way or another transcend the boundaries of subjective time and it’s up to the audience to close or break the circle.
