For the third consecutive year, the Central Saint Martins University of Arts London and the Athens School of Fine Arts are joined together to present the remarkably unique interactive multimedia performance, "lightbox" at TAF (The Art Foundation).
Inspired by the concept of the "mono-myth", the group of MA Scenography students called [Or Maybe Not], along with visual artist Hara Ioannou have created an installation - performance through daily meetings, workshops, and improvisations following the development process of devised theatre.
Drawing inspiration from the urban landscape, public spaces, close living quarters and their impact on concepts of privacy and community, the performance invites and provokes viewer interaction.
Exploring the aesthetic and intellectual principles of the urban lifestyle, "lightbox" juxtaposes the ideas of the objectification of the person and the personification of objects.
By combining a multimedia installation, digital technology and live performance, "lightbox" offers a unique experience for the viewer by analyzing the ideas of meta-narratives and narrative structures that are not based on communication through written or spoken language.
Located in six of TAF’s unique rooms "lightbox" is a project that changes daily during its residence there. Through projections, sound, performers, lighting and installation the viewer can follow the performance’s daily evolution and even become a part of it.
