PhotoRaid 10

Photography competition
Organized by: diadrasi.org | non-profit cultural organization

For the 2nd consecutive year, the PhotoRaid contest addressed both professional and non-professional photographers of all ages. The diversity of this competition was in that the participants themselves voted on the winners. Using a 35 mm 12 exp color film, contestants shot twelve themes. 12 hours, 12 subjects, 12 clicks, 12 winners.
Contestants used an analog 35mm camera. The film’s exposure and distribution was included withinin the fee.

On Saturday morning, the organizers distributed films and briefed the participants. Photographers were released within the urban city setting in a quest for the perfect image. Their only commitment was to shoot one photograph per subject. This restriction created an atmosphere of excitement, while the photographers experienced an endless game of thought, imagination and skill.

On Sunday the photos were posted in public view while a voting process was conducted. The party began in the early afternoon, followed by the announcement of the winning entries. The best photo was awarded with a weekend trip to Berlin.

Similar competitions exist in England and Germany and in Greece (Athens,Thessaloniki).
