the Art Foundation (taf)

The Art Foundation established in 2008. It is an innovative concept aiming to present international contemporary art to a wider public and by doing so, encouraging discussion and debate. It's aim is to collaborate with artists, curators and institutions and organise exhibitions that involved experimentation. The commitment to commissioning innovative solo and group shows by emerging, mid career and established Greek and International artists remains its core value.

The building

The building is dated back to 1870 and later, it consists of the main building with the gallery on the 1st floor and the enterance in the basement. A yard of approximately 150 sq.m. surrounded by two additional buildings ( the first is a 2 story building with 8 studios each of which are 10 sq. m. each and a ground building with 4 more studios). The entire building is a typical internal Athenian yard as built during the 19th century. It has been renovated to fit the needs of a cultural complex.
