Phasma2: 24 hours on August

TAF is pleased to present the exhibition 24 hours in August, which opens on Thursday, December 15 and will run until January 8, 2012.

The exhibition, realised by the group Phasma2, is the group’ s very first presentation and gathers photographs by the fourteen photographers who consist the main base/core of the group.

The photographic group Phasma2 was created through the emerging needs of the recent social incidents and the developments in contemporary photography in Greece. Its goal is, on the one hand, to promote the work of its members and, on the other hand, to produce cultural and educational events.

Choosing to emphasize on the collective way of working that they promote, they organised a collective project during August, where each one of the participants photographers tells the story of a specific 24hours day of August by a series of five photographs.

The selection of August was made due to the diversity of this month which is so much related to vacations, relaxation and perhaps the possibilities of all kinds that it might entail. It is a month like no other, that attempts to contain the pause, the rest and the carelessness for the sake of which every one of us struggles the rest of the year. One day and one night of this month is what the group of the experienced photographers opts to record and to transmit through the camera lens, each one in his own style, manner, and view.
